BEGINNER STAINED GLASS CLASSES:

In this class, you will learn the basic techniques required to create a stained glass panel. Learn how to cut and shape glass, how to foil and solder, and how to assemble your project for a beautiful completed stained glass panel, handmade by you! For the cost of $225.00 (plus tax), it included 4 continuous weeks of instruction, a beginner’s stained glass pattern, glass and everything you need to complete your first project. There are no additional costs! Class meets once a week for four weeks – 3 hours session each class. All beginner students will receive a 15% discount on week 4 of class to purchase your own materials and supplies.

INTERMEDIATE STAINED GLASS CLASSES:

Take your stained glass to the next level! Intermediate class will focus on perfecting your cutting, foiling, and soldering skills. Learn advanced cutting techniques and how to frame your projects in different materials. The cost of this class is $85.00 and sells out quickly! Students will need to supply all tools and materials in this class.

**Beginner Level**

In this two hour session, students will learn about the basics of glass fusing, and work with a variety of glass materials including glass frits, powders, and stringers. You will complete your very own set of four fused glass coasters. Each piece will be a one-of-a-kind functional piece of art. The completed fired pieces will be available for pick up the following week. All materials are included.

 

COMPREHENSIVE CUTTING COURSE

In this three hour course, Phil will teach students about different cutting and breaking tools, how to cut glass, and the do’s and don’ts of cutting glass. This class is perfect for students who have taken an entry level fusing, mosaic, or stained glass class and are looking to improve or brush up on cutting skills. After taking this course, students should be comfortable enough with cutting to start working on pieces on their own. A 15% discount will be offered on cutting tools!

Join us for a day of SUNCATCHER FUN and discover what stained glass is all about! This is the perfect one day, entry level stained glass class! Students will learn the copper foil technique while making their very own beautiful sun catcher to take home. ALL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED! Keep your finished work of art or give it as a gift. This is a great class to take with a friend or a group of people.

BEGINNER MOSAICS

This class is an introduction to the double direct method of mosaics which uses face taping instead of gluing each piece separately. This method allows for more versatility and a cleaner application. The gluing takes place at the completion of the project. This workshop is open to beginner and intermediate levels. This class includes all materials.

Design a masterpiece in this new and creative class! Using alcohol inks, students will make one fun piece and can use this technique for various mediums. This class includes all materials and students will be able to take their pieces with them the same day! Students are welcome to BYOB and enjoy a beverage of your choice.

Centuries old stained glass techniques will be revealed by master craftsman Jurgen Grauer. In this class, you will be taught how to build a stained glass panel using came and putty the way it has been done for over 500 years. Jurgen will discuss how to cut the glass, size the came, and finish off the panel to last a hundred years. Each student will leave this one day class with a finished panel to keep or give away as a gift to a friend. All glass and came included. Additional tools and materials are required and may need to be purchased.

3D MOSAIC FLOWER

Create an eye-catching 3D flower in a color of your choice. You will leave with a completed project that is ready to hang in a lightweight etched aluminum frame. No experience is necessary and ALL levels are welcome. All materials are included for this class.

Ever wanted to turn one of your photos into a stained, leaded or mosaic glass? Learn from McMow Master Jordan on how to convert a photo or image into an art glass pattern design. Bring in a photo of your choice and get ready to create. Jordan will also teach you how to adapt existing patterns to be more sophisticated OR simplify cut lines. This is the perfect class for someone wanting to take their glass art to the next level. Pattern size is limited to six square feet.

PATTERN BAR CASTING

In this exciting class students will produce a 3/8” thick fused glass pattern slab. Students will learn tack fusing, saw cutting, designing, and fuse casting techniques. Students will also learn how to calculate the amount of glass to fill any size mold and all the firing schedules to complete a beautiful work of art. Your friends will be amazed at the finished piece and you will be happy to know how truly easy it is to do. The finished piece can be slumped into a sushi plate mold for a $10 additional fee.

VITRIGRAPH EXPERIENCE – experimenting with pulled stringer!

Don’t pass up this opportunity to try your hand at the exciting experience of pulling your very own glass stringers from a hot kiln! Each student will be given a glass palette and the opportunity to create their very own work of art with their vitrigraph stringer. We will give students a little help by providing them with ideas to use for inspiration – and then the rest is up to you! Class includes all materials and one firing. Pieces can be slumped for an additional cost. This is a great opportunity to experience glass fusing in a one day class!

STRIP CUT ROUNDERS

In this two day class, students have the opportunity to learn how to take simple strips of glass and turn them into functional rounders. What’s a rounder you say? Think glass light fixtures and stand alone pieces. Learn how these forms are created and take your glass fusing to the SALEABLE level. This is the most saleable type of functional glass art! Learn proper techniques for strip cutting, damming your fusing piece, cold working, slumping and so much more! Materials, kiln firing, slumping and cold working included. Project size is 8”x 8”.

STAINED GLASS PAINTING BASICS – LEARN HOW TO BLACK LINE!

ENTRY LEVEL CLASS – NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

Black lining is the first step in the intricate technique of glass painting. McMow master Jordan Day will discuss the process of glass painting and the various materials used. Students will then put their knowledge into play and create a piece of their own! Participants will learn how to use black lining to add small details and personalized touches to their stained glass pieces. All materials and kiln firings included.

OUR NEW SCREEN PRINTING CLASS!

In this two day class, learn the fundamentals of screen printing on glass! The first day there will be a lecture and discussion and you will also create a sample piece. The second day, you will create your piece from an image of your choice. Use this technique to enhance your art glass work! This class should not be missed. Space is limited!

Knowing how to properly utilize a drill and glass saw for your art glass projects can take a project to the professional level.
