FUSING, MOSAICS, STAINED GLASS & MORE

BEGINNER STAINED GLASS CLASSES:

In this class, you will learn the basic techniques required to create a stained glass panel.  Learn how to cut and shape glass, how to foil and solder, and how to assemble your project for a beautiful completed stained glass panel, handmade by you!  For the cost of $225.00 (plus tax), it included 4 continuous weeks of instruction, a beginner’s stained glass pattern, glass and everything you need to complete your first project.  There are no additional costs!  Class meets once a week for four weeks – 3 hours session each class.  All beginner students will receive a 15% discount on week 4 of class to purchase your own materials and supplies.

INTERMEDIATE STAINED GLASS CLASSES:

Take your stained glass to the next level!  Intermediate class will focus on perfecting your cutting, foiling, and soldering skills.  Learn advanced cutting techniques and how to frame your projects in different materials.  The cost of this class is $85.00 and sells out quickly!  Students will need to supply all tools and materials in this class.

DICHRO JEWELRY & ETCHING TECHNIQUES

The perfect gift making class just in time for Valentine’s Day!
In this 2 hour course, students will learn a multitude of jewelry design techniques that can be achieved using dichroic glass.  Patti will demonstrate techniques such as reverse etching, using a dremmel tool, and decal application.   A variety of methods for making your fused dichroic pieces wearable art will be covered as well.  Students will create two pendants.  All materials are included.  Introductory level fusing knowledge is required.

SCREENPRINTING

In this two day class, learn the fundamentals of screenprinting on glass!  The first day there will be a lecture and discussion and you will also create a sample piece.  The second day, you will create your piece from an image of your choice.  The paint is vitreous and you will learn the proper schedule to fire it.  Use this technique to enhance your art glass work!  This class should not be missed.  Space is limited!

PATTERN BAR CASTING

In this exciting class students will produce a 3/8” thick fused glass pattern slab.  Students will learn tack fusing, saw cutting, designing, and fuse casting techniques.  Students will also learn how to calculate the amount of glass to fill any size mold and all the firing schedules to complete a beautiful work of art.  Your friends will be amazed at the finished piece and you will be happy to know how truly easy it is to do.  The finished piece can be slumped into a sushi plate mold for a $10 additional fee.

Centuries old stained glass techniques will be revealed by master craftsman Jurgen Grauer.  In this class, you will be taught how to build a stained glass panel using came and putty the way it has been done for over 500 years.  Jurgen will discuss how to cut the glass, size the came, and finish off the panel to last a hundred years.  Each student will leave this one day class with a finished panel to keep or give away as a gift to a friend.  All glass and came included. Additional tools and materials are required and may need to be purchased.

KILN CASTING

In this popular and informative class, students will learn an exciting technique that will expand your fusing knowledge and skills.  Each student will create a clay sculpture that will be transformed into an exact copy in glass.  That’s right, you will be creating a glass sculpture, and the possibilities are endless.  Students will learn mold making techniques as well as calculations for filling the molds and all firing schedules related to this process.  Learning this process will free the fusing artist from the plate and bowl continuum and the best part is you can do it at home in your own kiln (no furnace needed).  TWO DAYS of intense fun and information.  Open face kiln casting.  TWO continuous Saturday’s.

MOSAIC GARDEN STONES

Make that special presentation in your garden or make an exciting walkway for your home.  This mosaic class will show you how to produce decorative glass garden stones using the indirect method of pouring concrete into a form.  This beginner method shows how easy it can be to add new uses for your stained glass.  Students will leave with a garden stone at the end of the class, along with the knowledge to repeat this technique over and over again.  All materials are included.  Do not pass this class up.  Also makes a great holiday gift!

This master class appeals to students who know the basics of stained glass and want to take their knowledge and skills to the next level. Participants will be illustrating a fable as well as learning and practicing many techniques.

A FUN class based on historic Aesop’s fables. Each student has a choice of a fable to base their work on, then with Cavalieri’s guidance, will sketch a plan for a glass panel measuring approximately 12”x 12”.

During the four day workshop, students will learn different processes to add imagery onto a glass surface using kiln fired enamel paints. No painting or drawing is experience needed, found images can be traced!

In this Master Class Students will learn the process of using heat, gravity, and beautiful Bullseye Glass to create a dimensional piece of kiln-formed art.  Learn the following:  The basics of how glass moves; the fundamental tools and materials necessary to harness flow within a body of glass; how to fire sheet glass arranged within an assembled mold that includes a ramp or incline to achieve flow within a finished piece.
