BEGINNER’S STAINED GLASS

 In this class you will learn the basic techniques required to create a stained glass panel. Learn how to cut and shape glass, how to foil and solder, and how to assemble your project for a beautiful completed stained glass panel, handmade by you! For the cost of $150.00 (plus tax), it includes 4 continuous weeks of instruction, a beginner’s stained glass pattern, glass and everything you need to complete your first project. There are no additional costs! Class meets once a week for four weeks – 3 hours session each class. All beginner students will receive a 15% discount on week 4 of class to purchase your own materials and supplies.

INTERMEDIATE STAINED GLASS CLASS

 Take your stained glass to the next level! Intermediate class will focus on perfecting your cutting, foiling and soldering skills. Learn advanced cutting techniques and how to frame your projects in different materials. The cost of this class is $85.00 and it sells out quickly! Students will need to supply their own tools and materials for this class.

Moving forward, when new class dates are released they will also be released with a date available for registration. No registrations will be accepted before that date. Thank you! **

November Classes:


Wednesday, October 24th & November 7th
Raising the Pattern Bar  6-8pm with Phil  $150
*Intermediate level*
In this exciting class students will produce a 3/8” thick fused glass pattern slab.  Students will learn tack fusing, saw cutting, designing, and fuse casting techniques.  Students will also learn how to calculate the amount of glass to fill any size mold and all the firing schedules to complete a beautiful work of art.  Your friends will be amazed at the finished piece and you will be happy to know how truly easy it is to do.  The finished piece can be slumped into a sushi plate mold for a $10 additional fee.


Saturday, November 3rd
Mosaic Garden Stones  9-3pm with Phil  $175
*Cutting Skills required*
Make that special presentation in your garden or make an exciting walkway for your home.  This mosaic class will show you how to produce decorative glass garden stones using the indirect method of pouring concrete into a form.  This beginner method shows how easy it can be to add new uses for your stained glass.  Students will leave with a garden stone at the end of the class, along with the knowledge to repeat this technique over and over again.  All materials are included.  Do not pass this class up.  Also makes a great holiday gift!


Saturday, November 10th
Old World Came Method  9-3pm with Jurgen  $150
*Stained glass knowledge is required*
Centuries old stained glass techniques will be revealed by master craftsman Jurgen Grauer.  In this class, you will be taught how to build a stained glass panel using came and putty the way it has been done for over 500 years.  Jurgen will discuss how to cut the glass, size the came, and finish off the panel to last a hundred years.  Each student will leave this one day class with a finished panel to keep or give away as a gift to a friend.  All glass and came included.

Introduction to Fusing  6-8pm with Patti  $75
*Beginner Level*
In this two hour session, students will learn about the basics of glass fusing, and work with a variety of glass materials including glass frits, powders, and stringers.  You will complete your very own fused glass coaster.  Each piece will be a one-of-a-kind functional piece of art.  The completed fired pieces will be available for pick up the following week.  All materials are included.


Saturday, November 17th
Painted and Fused Flowers  10am-12pm with Patti $75
Learn to manipulate Glassline paints like a pro!  Create painterly effects with this exciting glass medium.  You won’t believe how these flowers are achieved using a variety of unique techniques you have never seen before!  This class includes all materials and one kiln firing – options to create plates etc available with the purchase of slumping firings.


Saturday, November 24th
Open Fusing Workshop  10am-2pm with Patti and Phil  $45
*Fusing Experience Required*
Create a STUNNING fused glass project of your choice!  Come in with your idea, and Patti or Phil will help you make your dream project a reality.  Patti or Phil will help you determine design, materials, and kiln firings – which you can pay for separately.  Experience is required – both beginning fusing knowledge and cutting experience is required.  This is also a GREAT way to meet other fusing fanatics!  Note: Materials and kiln firings not included

Saturday, December 1st and 8th
CASTING CALL!  9am-3pm with Phil  $275
No auditions necessary!  Just sign up.  In this popular and informative class, students will learn an exciting technique that will expand your fusing knowledge and skills.  Each student will create a clay sculpture that will be transformed into an exact copy in glass.  That’s right, you will be creating a glass sculpture, and the possibilities are endless.  Students will learn mold making techniques as well as calculations for filling the molds and all firing schedules related to this process.  Learning this process will free the fusing artist from the plate and bowl continuum and the best part is you can do it at home in your own kiln (no furnace needed).  Two days of intense fun and information.  Open face kiln casting.  Two continuous Saturday’s.

Wire Wrapped Pendants  6-9pm with Patti and Steph  $125
Learn how to create an artisan jewelry piece in this 3-hour class by framing a cabochon with decorative and functional wire wrapping techniques.  Students will gain the knowledge of securing a cabochon, creating a bail, and embellishing to create a beautiful pendant for you as a treat or as a gift!  All materials and tools will be supplied.
